How it works
From a bill search to a tracked, sourced status
Search any U.S. bill, get a plain-English summary and a clear status, and track it with alerts — or call the exact same data from your code or your agent in one line.
For people
Search, read, track, get alerted
No login required to search and read — an account just lets you track a bill and get notified.
- 1
1. Search a bill
Full-text search, or filter by Congress, status, policy area, sponsor or chamber. Every U.S. federal bill is indexed, not a curated subset.
- 2
2. Read the AI summary
A plain-English summary of what the bill does and who it affects, generated from the bill's actual text and always linked back to Congress.gov and GovTrack.
- 3
3. Track it
Add the bill to your list in one click. Free accounts can track up to 5 bills; Pro and Scale track an unlimited number, plus saved searches on a whole topic.
- 4
4. Get alerts
A weekly digest free, or same-day email and webhook alerts on Pro and Scale — the moment a tracked bill's status changes, not whenever you next remember to check.
For agents
Call it as a tool, not a guess
A policy or compliance agent gets the same live data as a REST API and an MCP server.
- 1
1. Call the API or MCP
search_bills / get_bill / get_bill_summary — over REST or as native MCP tools, with reads open to anonymous callers at a throttled rate.
- 2
2. Get structured, sourced data
A stable JSON shape for status, sponsors and action history, with Congress.gov and GovTrack links attached — never a memorized guess from training data.
- 3
3. Analyze impact, if needed
analyze_bill_impact returns a tailored AI read of how a specific bill affects a described business or industry context — a Pro/Scale action, metered per call.

FAQ
Questions about the process
Is the AI summary a substitute for reading the bill?
No — it's a starting point. Every summary links to the bill's official text and its Congress.gov/GovTrack source, and AI summaries can simplify or omit detail. Verify anything that matters before you rely on it.
How current is a bill's status?
Bill100 mirrors the public record from Congress.gov and GovTrack on an ongoing basis — see /security for the update cadence. It's not instantaneous, but it's current, unlike a model's training-data snapshot.
Can I track more than 5 bills on the free plan?
Not simultaneously — the free plan caps at 5 tracked bills with a weekly digest. Pro and Scale remove the cap and add same-day alerts. See /pricing.
Can an AI agent use Bill100 directly?
That's a first-class use case, not an afterthought. Every lookup is available as a REST API and a hosted MCP server, so a policy-monitoring or compliance agent can call a tool instead of guessing. See /developers.
